Siemens was honored with the Value Creation Award at Owens Corning’s 5th Annual Global Supplier Event that took place in September. This award is given to a company that is able to create value by reducing costs and improving production efficiencies. Siemens earned this award for the work done on the Gastonia project, Owens Corning’s new greenfield glass nonwoven manufacturing facility located in Gastonia, NC. Siemens delivered value in many ways including coordinating OEMs and for the use of a consistent control strategy by OEMs in Europe and the U.S. Siemens also assisted in the creation of project standards and the close coordination of each machinery and system supplier. “Two years ago, Owens Corning and Siemens entered into a supply agreement for the first time in North America to build an advanced glass nonwoven manufacturing line. Since that time, Siemens has demonstrated their commitment to deliver true values for Owens Corning through quality, cost and service. As a leading glass nonwoven producer, we are pleased to work with a global leader in electrical and process automation field,” says Suman Raha, GM North America Non-Woven Business for Owens Corning.
